  • COMPETITION ALERT!

Wed 01 Apr 2020 Jo Nichol

As some of you may be aware, I do love a good competition! Here is one that you could have a go at whilst learning from home: https://goape.co.uk/groups/schools/adventure-stories

    Good luck!

I have also added a new competition page to the "Whole School Learning" section and will add more competitions as I come across them.

  • Website Update!

Wed 01 Apr 2020 Jo Nichol

Please do make sure you regularly check the class ages section of our website as lots of exciting things are being added daily. If you take a look under the "Whole School Home Learning" section you will find lots of new activities, including:

    • Links to the songs we would be singing in our singing assemblies
    • Support for those with SEN
    • A Lego challenge section
    • Wellbeing
    • And lots more!

Also, don't forget to log into your Yumu Music Account. There are some new resources available. I have had a look at what has been completed so far and would like to say a huge thank you to those who have started. You will be expert musicians by the end of this!

Don't forget to send any pictures or videos of your learning across. We will endeavour to upload them to the school website!

Take care and stay safe :)

  • An incredible day with Ali Pye!

    Wed 12 Feb 2020 J.Nichol
We were extremely lucky to have the fabulous Ali Pye visit our school yesterday. She shared her writing experiences with all  the children and taught them some fantastic skills for creating their own story ideas. Afterwords, we had an official opening of our new library. Maybe we should call it the Ali Pybrary!
  • Greetings!

    Fri 07 Feb 2020 J. Nichol
This term we are focusing on how to greet our friends and family appropriately. The children will be working on this in class so please do practise at home! Look out for our posters around school to encourage this!
  • Inside Out Day

    Thu 06 Feb 2020 J. Nichol

Today we took part in the first ever "inside out" day to mark "Children's Mental Health Week". Children came to school with some of their clothes inside out to remind us to always be kind and think of others as we do not know how other people may be feeling.

We have had some discussions around how to look after our mental health and how to support others. Take a look at some of our Insider Outers below!

  • We are Eco Warriors!

    Thu 30 Jan 2020 J. Nichol
Yesterday, the whole school took part in an Eco Warriors session. We had an incredible time making bird feeders from recycled materials, litter picking in Prestwood and looking after our school site! Keep your eyes peeled for some photos to follow!
  • Author Visit!

    Wed 22 Jan 2020 J.Nichol
We are extremely exciting to have secured a visit from the incredible Ali Pye. She will be visiting the school on Tuesday 11th February to share her experiences with the children. There will be a chance to pre order her latest books so keep an eye out in this weeks newsletter for information on how to do this!
  • First Aid Books

    Thu 16 Jan 2020 J. Nichol
Don't forget that you can order a copy of the first aid book for children via the school office. The deadline for orders is Friday 24th January. It is a fab book to help educate children on what to do in an emergency. We never know what  is around the corner so it's good to be prepared.
